Theme:  Birds, Critters, And Trees - Managing Forests, Helping Wildlife

This program provides opportunity for students to learn "about" the forest while actually "in" a forest.  It demonstrates for students that environmental friendly, sustainable forest management can provide quality habitat for birds, fish, and wildlife and provide forest products for our use and comfort.  Topics include creation of wildlife habitat and fisheries enhancement, the soil cycle and oxygen cycle, the growth of trees, tree predators, and forest management techniques.  This program was developed in cooperation with the Clark County Farm Forestry Association, and the cost is underwritten in part by them.  The program especially complements studies in Pacific Northwest History and Environmental Science.  Includes a 19 page teacher's curriculum guide.
